Frequently Answered Questions

Here are some of the most common questions we get asked about Orgasmatron, if you would like to ask us something NOT listed here Please use the Contact page.

We have a cool band, can we support you?

Unfortunately most of the time this isn't possible. Our fans and supporters have become used to us playing long shows. This doesn't leave much (if any) time for a support band, to set up their gear and then perform.

We keep turning up to your shows only to find they are sold out.

There isn't a great deal we can do about it we're afraid. 99% of the time we have no control over the ticket sales as this is the responsibility of the venue/promoter. All we can suggest is that you either turn up earlier, advance book your tickets, or at the very least check with the venue before turning up!

I live in Scotland, how come you never play here?

This isn't intentional, we'd love to play North of the Border, but the problem is in arranging a series of gigs to make the visit economically viable. Touring is a costly business and this is especially true when a South of England band tries to fit a Scottish gig in with a punishing schedule based around appearing at venues much further south. Until we can organize several gigs (and there doesn't seem to be much interest shown by Scottish promoters) then we're afraid that it is looking decidedly unlikely.

It's my mate's birthday on Tuesday, can we book you do do a turn?

Sorry folks. We used to do 'em in the old days, but these days one-off private shows like this cause a lot of problems with our schedule. Normally gigs on the circuit can be re-arranged if we receive a last minute booking e.g. foreign shows, festivals and the like. Private events can very rarely be bumped to another date. Over the 10 years we've been on the road, our expenses/outgoings have drastically increased, and in all conscience we don't like to ask birthday party arrangers for the sort of fees we can receive from properly promoted public events.

I live in <Any town> and I know the Landlord of this pub. What's the chance of you playing there?

The normal criteria we use for a venue is that it should be able to hold at least 200 people. The regular patrons should be used to paying a minimum of £7 entrance fee. The proprietor should be aware of who we are and the type of music we play. If the venue can fulfil these criteria, then yes, please let us know the name of the place, the owner/Landlord's name, and the telephone number and we'll contact them to see what can be arranged.

I'm learning to play the guitar, could you publish some of your 'tabs'?

With the best will in the world we would love to, but in between organizing all the boring admin, the bookings, the gig guides, the promotions, the recording schedule, song writing, rehearsing et al, we don't have any time left for a personal life much less the transcription of some very complicated finger work.
